Bobby Shew. That's just a horrible name.

Just call me Happy Mud Crumb Leaf High Gate Whistle Buck Goose Pepper Rum Stern Root. Quiet Hoop.

Or Joris. Whatever you like best.

Ok so what can I tell you? I'm laying in the spare bedroom right now because my bed is currently at my new place in the big city! And I'm full of regrets. Because I should have been sleeping on this bed for the last 19 years! It's so damn comfortable I could just chill here all day. But I can't because of stupid work. WORK! Tomorow is my last day :D thank tha lord. I've cut just about as much grass as Peter* has smoked over this summer (Name changed for his anonymity hahaha) Speaking of cuts, theres a cut above my back top molars on my gums and I'm not sure how it got there, but it feels weird.

Next summer I am making my self go to an outdoor water park and slide down a big huge slide. This winter I'm going to get good at carving on a snowboard. Somehow last time I went (aka my first time) I was just starting to carve at the end of the day. So hopefully I can do it completely by the end of this year :)

School starts in exactly a week. You know how I know that? Well there's the obvious answer: calendar. And  its true that that definitly played a part in my scholarly timetable knowledge, but the main reason I remember is because my parents are suddenly starting to get clingy and overly kind again, my brother is getting excited for our first trip back home (for his 18th birthday!! Ah, they grow up so fast *tear) and the pile of junk in our basement (meant for me and Jen to haul back to school to fill our new home) has been continually growing for the last four months to the point that is slowly creeping its way towards the stairs. It lingers there and looks at me whenever I walk past it.. just reminding me that it's heavy and inconveniently at the BOTTOM of the stairs. Anyway .. Yea school. Not sure how I feel about that.. I mean I'm stoked for seeing all the people I love again but I'm pretty nervous for chemistry. It's been almost two years since I've even thought about elements and compounds, or Al, Br, and H. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS??! .. at least I can remember what that's even called. That's a good sign :S

Selena Gomez - Love you like a love song.
What do you think of it? ... Personally I hate it and think it has no backbone. Songs need a solid hook and that doesn't really have one.. too repetative too.

My phone officially sucks worse than it did before. TIME FOR AN UPGRADE :D yeeeeeeeeeea

I hate when people say yeeeeee. It looks so dumb.

But anways, yeeee.

yeee.

.ye.

*Whispers* Would he offer me his jaws? - Yess.

Blog. Frog. Grog.

Hey, so it's quarter to twelve on a Sunday afternoon and I'm happy as a peach. I''m sitting on the deck, on the new patio set that Dad got for Mom for their 22 (or 23rd) anniversary and looking out at our yard. Its so pretty! There's a little breeze which is perfect because its 29 degrees! The garden (that I planted MYSELF! .. with a little help from Dad with the potatoes and onions) is in full swing after not cooperating all summer. There's 6 - 7 little white butterflies floating around lazily over the lawn (which I cut in a heart shape for my rents anniversary hahaha), a TON of pink crab apples hanging on the tree near the gate (already had to pick most of the other ones off of the one by the house because it was literally breaking because it was so weighed down) and the sun is shining down on everything - perfect! I also have some John Mayer playing in the background, and as much as Dad says that there is no better sound than nature, I gotta say that this music REALLY adds to this scene. But anyways, I didn't start this blog to describe my yard in detail - I wanted to write a bit about my summer!

This summer has been so packed - this is one of the only times I've really been able to just sit and relax and take in all the beauty around me. (I sound like a hippy, but I swear it's just my mood! haha) I'll try and tell it in the order that it went... here goes nothing!

Ok, so the first weekend back in "The Burg" (hahaha apparently thats what my dad and his generation used to call it back in their day) was grad it was pretty fun.. got hypnotized at the dry grad (kinda, it wasn't very powerful) and beat up little kids in the bouncy castle (No, i didnt ACTUALLY beat up Shaelyn, but yes, there WAS a bouncy castle at a grad party.. I know.) And that's that.

Next weekend was the Volleyball Tourney - we didn't do so hot, but the after party was lots of fun!
Then there was.. oh man I can't even remember that far back.. must have went to the big city or something - probably went to the bars. Then something else, then Lea Park on June 11th - got a boyfriend! Who saw that one coming?
Scariest thing I have ever seen in my life ^^^

Can't remember what order these went in but there was Kirsten's hometown slow pitch tournament (McGlovin!), Canada Day slow pitch, Atoons Lake Tourney - all SUPER fun times with some of the best friends I could ever ask for! Me and Jen also went up to visit the grandparents for a weekend. OH! AND BVJ!!! How could I forget! And went to Arm Lake with Tanners fam. And the fair! And the Mud Drags! Then for almost a whole week our whole family went camping at the usual spot, then up to Uncle T's cabin for the annual Horse Shoe Tourney, saw all the cousins on that side of the family again. This past Friday night we had our reunion lake party that we had last year again - Success! We moved the fire off the cement pad onto the actual beach and everyone was laying down around it having H2H's .. reminded everyone of the OC haha and last night was Nitty Gritty Dirt Band! They were awesome but WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE!? Does no one know how to do the Catalack Ranch line dance properly anymore? Everyone was just off timing and stuff and it was just awful and messy - everyone running into eachother and looking clumsy.

Anyway that was my summer! Between all those weekend I was either playing in the town slow pitch league, adult volleyball, going to Fusion and getting back in shape, working on the farm, working in general, heading to the movies, watching the bar burn down, trying to push through The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo (ugh), getting classes lined up, building the cabin down at the lake, spring quadding with Jenna, or calling into the radio stations at work and acting like a damn fool. haha Next weekend I head back to the big city for orientation for a program I'm volunteering at next year.. I'm just stoked for it! Going to meet lots of different people and actually make a difference in the school (a small difference, but still).

Anyway, thats my summer! I was so dead set on fully utilizing all my spare time and good weather to the absolute max that I possibly could this past winter and I think I can officially say that I fulfilled my goal - fullest and funnest summer of my life! I'm so thankful for the life I have at this moment :) That thought might just change when I get back to school and hit the books instead of the bars every weekend but I'm hoping my summer high will carry me through the first couple of months anyway.

Random Memory: The first time I swept the floor. Must not have been very old because I was still watching Disney movies like Snow White and 101 Dalmations. But I begged my mom to let me sweep after supper, so she gave me the broom and turned around to wash the dishes.. When she turned around again I was sweeping one spot - back and forth just spreading dirt around everywhere instead of towards a pile. I remember thinking I probably looked just like Cinderella at that moment and I was just glowing inside, picturing myself to be as beautiful and hardworking as a princess - Until my mom shrieked and told me I was doing it wrong and just messing up her kitchen. Now I sweep the boring, "Mom" way.

I remember when I used to be easy. I remember when I used to be hard.

Insightful song lyrics probably quoted incorrectly by Jenna.

Betty-Anne Mooster

Hey
Hi
Howdy

So, ever notice that you can be just dead tired but as soon as you find out you have the day off tomorrow its like instantly ready to stay up all night and either a.) party or b.) comb the internet for anything that will give you a fraction of a second of entertainment. Like me right now. Got today off because it was foggy as birth and it started raining like an angry gnome. Anyway, this is my fraction of a second of entertainment.. and its somewhat productive? Haha when I used to write these things and had an exam to study for or an essay to write I would always just blog and convince myself that I was doing something important.

I always laugh when I come across a music video where the girl is trying to be really sexy with humpy lookin dance moves and wind in her hair. Because most times I just think of the whole crew she had to perform those questionable dance moves in front of. Plus you can usually just read the pain behind her eyes as she tries to hold her eye lids open even though there's 40km/h winds blasting in her face.

The internet. Everything needs a username and a password nowadays. I usually just stay uncreative with both, sticking with either something revolving around my name (joryish, isjory, jorisaurus, ect) or the classic alphabettsoup. And I use the same two passwords for everything too! And I've had them for probably 5 years lol. I remember my very first computer password was Helen. Because that's my Gma's name.

I used to crack my knuckles. For no particular reason. Just did.

Jenna had no idea that Blink 182 had more songs than All the Small Things. So we listened to a whole bunch today.

Moist is a gross word.

Also, went to an appreciation BBQ tonight with my dad & uncles (aka farmers). It was ok, Mom coaxed me and Jenna into it by promising steaks and cute boys (that part for Jenna more than for me haha). We got there and ate hamburgers with a bunch of farmers (half of which were my family). I won a stress cow though :D

I wish people would stop fighting over Beyonce's hair. Like I'm sure she's not the ONLY black woman who could pull off blonde hair. Haha, speaking of her.. back in the day when Goldmember came out, we bought an afro wig and I used to pretend to be her. HAHAHA

Mess

So I donated blood yesterday, first time ever! Can't say it was anything overly special. I went to lloyd with Jen and I spent most of the time sitting in a chair,, waiting for my name to be called. I'm not sure what my mom was talking about when she said "Be prepared for some scary, SCARY questions you have to answer!!!" .. They're only really scary if you have slept with a prostitute or do intervenes drugs or lived in Africa or were born in Mexico.

While I was waiting to get called to start having blood pumped out of me, I noticed something that I've always noticed, but I thought about it differently (my mind was wandering, I'm sorry, it was so boring). Almost everyone that was waiting in the four rows of chairs were spaced at least one chair apart, as if no one wanted to sit beside each other. Maybe they like their personal space, or were worried that they would come across as weird if they  chose a seat that positioned them between two taken chairs instead of two empty ones. Its pretty sad that society has programmed us to think this way. But on the other hand, there was a number of people who seemed to be complete strangers who could just strike up a conversation with each other and carry it through until one of them was called up.

I was surprised at how much it hurt actually, the big needle when it went in. I watched it the whole time and felt perfectly fine through it, but I was only expecting a short prick and instead it felt like a knife. Haha, oh well

Hmm what else can I tell you that won't bore you? I always have all these great ideas for blogs throughout the day, and then I just forget to write them down and their gone, just like that.

Well I guess I could get ready for work.. first day of cutting grass! I'm not really excited. Being a girl out there will be horrible, some of the leases are in the middle of a flat feild with no bush or cover for miles, aka no place to pee haha

Brandon Heath

When I was around 12 or 13, I was into some pretty lame stuff. I was too old for teddy bears, yet I wouldn't let my mom get rid of ANY of them. They ended up just sitting in a garbage bag at the back of a closet for 7 years until just the other day when we were spring cleaning and mom found them. I told her she could sell all of them. I remember when she actually DID get rid of them and donated them to the Legion Garage Sale in town here. This was back in the day when I made $10/month allowance and $2/hour babysitting. I took a wopping fifteen bucks to the sale and bought all my stuffed animals back. Yea. I bought my own toys with all my savings. Then I didnt even use them haha.

I only have two left now. One is a monkey, one of five Build-a-Bears that me and my friends all got on Brenna's 14th birthday at West Edmonton Mall. I'm not keeping it because that trip was the best time of my life or anything, more because of the wish that I made on its heart (You know how you have to like kiss a little heart and make a wish on it before you stuff it into your animal at that place? So "special" haha geez.) I wished that me and that group of friends would be friends forever. Haha, I guess all wishes don't come true. Actually, quite the opposite came true and I don't even talk to the two I was closest with back then. And the second one is probably the ugliest one I had. Its a small tiger with thread spaced out to look like fur. Its face isnt even cute haha. Back in the same day when me and my siblings didn't have jobs and only made allowance, my brother came back from Saskatoon with it and gave it to me. It cost him fourteen bucks.

At this point in my life, I also tried things like Nexopia (my mom made me delete it as soon as she found out, I tried really really hard to keep it a secret from her), Myspace, MSN and those board game -computer games that came inside cereal boxes (mostly LIFE but I guess I tried others too haha). But the one that I just can't wrap my head around is the cyber doll dress up one. You picked a body and a face, and then chose shirts and pants or skirts or dresses and just placed them over the body. I made HUNDREDS of those and spend countless hours at the home computer just making different combos. If you know me, I've never been big into fashion ESPECIALLY when I was that age! haha So it boggles me why I was so entertained by that, but moreso, I still scratch my head at how I actually ENJOYED it.

Ever had a Chiapet? I kinda want one.

Accurate Face

At my house, we go through probably a jug of milk every day or so. My bro chugs that down like he's getting paid. So when I have to get up and work in the morning, and there's no eggo's, bread or eggs, I usually just grab cereal. Given that most times, Arlee finishes all the milk the night before, I pour a bowl of honeycombs and go to find milk and there is none! So I'm forced to eat a dry bowl of cereal for breakfast, and wash it down with water - not the most appetizing way to start off the day. So this is going to be a blog about creative ways to eat a bowl of milkless cereal.
1. Water
2. Juice
3. Coconut milk
4. Bacon Grease
5. Ice Tea
6. Dr. Pepper
7. Beer
9. Jello
10. Ice
11. Whiskey

So I get the feeling that not one of these would be a good substitute for milk on cereal. Except for maybe Jello. One day I'll make Jello-Cereal Shots and serve them at a party maybe.
