Blue Paint On My Toes

"All you need is love" is a lie 'cause
We had enough but we still said goodbye
Now we're tired, battered fighters

And it stings when it's nobody's fault
'Cause there's nothing to blame at the drop of your name
It's only the air you took and the breath you left

Maybe I'll sleep inside my coat
Wait on the porch 'til you come back home
Oh, right
I can't find a flight
So I'll check the weather wherever you are
'Cause I wanna know if you can see the stars tonight
It might be my only right

[2x]
We share the sadness
Split screen sadness
(Two wrongs make it all alright tonight)

I called because I just
Need to feel you on the line
Don't hang up this time
And I know it was me who called it over but
I still wish you'd fought me 'til your dying day
Don't let me get away

Boys Are Like Pokemon.

Boys are like Pokemon. Part 1.

Case Point 1: The Steroid Infused Douchebag
This is the kind of guy who goes to bars and spends half his massive, oil rig paycheck on jager bombs, and the other half on lap dances. And the only thing bigger than this guys inflatable muscles is his ego. Obviously this guy walks around like he's Machamp, but everyone knows that deep down inside his overpriced pants and sock stuffed tighty whiteys, he's just a wee little Machop. He will never live up to expectations, and all that steroid use will have made it impossible for his manhood to evolve.

Case Point 2: The Hipster in Skinny Jeans
On the surface, these skinny white boys come across as harmless Bellsprouts. Although a lot of them would prefer to be Metapods, because no one else ever would.  Generally they're as useless as Metapods, so it's fitting in any case. Once you dig a little deeper and realize that they are actually Ditto's, trend followers who are simply changing appearance with whatever is in style at the time.

Case in Point 3: The Beautiful Jock
This boy is walking down the street, he's got all the Jigglypuffs and Ponytas following him around and cooing at his every move. He's got the young Vulpix's attention as well as their cougar mothers, Ninetails. He is a solid 10 on the hottness scale, a real Charizard. He's a  And although his rippling six pack and gorgeous white teeth make him the apple of everyone's eye, when he opens a book, the Slowpoke within is revealed. His other beautiful meathead teammates look like Garydos's, Nidokings and Rhyhorns, but if you peel back all their muscle and athletics, they are nothing more than a bunch of Psyducks, Magikarps and Koffings.

Case in Point 4: The Horn Dogs
Lickitung. That's all I really need to say.

Case in Point 5: Pretty Boys
These boys keep their nails manicured, they keep their bushy eyebrows in check, they only wear Hollister and Ambercrombie. These boys come in two sizes, Parisect and Seaking.

Case in Point 6: Nerds
There are two types of nerds that I will cover. The first is Math Nerds. These types of nerds are usually antisocial, pizza faced boys who wet the bed when they dream about talking to a girl. These boys are Porygons or Magnemites. Ever played Pokemon Snap? Those things only ever let you get close to them if you threw food at them! I feel like Math Nerds would be the same way.. only with WOW instead of food. The second kind of nerd is the Always Friendzoned Nerd. These nerds are without question great great grandsons of Mr. Mime. They are cute, friendly, helpful and always there when you need a shoulder to cry on, but somehow they are not boyfriend material. There is something about them that is just too nice about this guy for a girl to cling to in a romantic sort of way.

Case in Point 7: The Freak Boys
These were the guys in high school that started skipping school to experiment with drugs, they always had weird hair cuts and sometimes wore chains or eye liner. These were the kinds of guys that grew up to have weird symbolic tattoos on their faces and possibly the ever gross nose plug piercing. These boys are Eggsecutor, Parisite and Persian. I threw Persian in there because there's always a semi good looking one in that group who has his way with the burnout freak girls, aka the Glooms, Jynx's, and Tangela's

Case in Point 8: The Fat Ones
Dumb, lazy and large. HOWLDIN ALL THUH POKUHMONZ.

Love My Family

ONE MORE ESSAY

ONE MORE ONE MORE ONE MORE
I can do this. Then I can finally erase my dry erase board calendar thing and go the the gym and go shopping and And AND!

AAAAND I get to go home for Thanks Giving this weekend. I'm stoked I haven't seen my parents in a long time. I called them for the first time in a looong time last night, no one was home, so I just left a message for them to call me back whenever they wanted. About an hour later I get a call. I answer "Hello?" and BOTH my mom and dad are like "HEY BABY!! HOWS IT GOING!!!" at the same time in unison. Haha I laughed and asked "How many of you are there on that end of the phone?" To which they both laughed hysterically and replied "JUST US! HAHAHA"
Obviously they were a little more than enthused that I called them. Lol the memory of it is making me laugh just thinking about it. Just so eager to catch up with me and laughing way too hard at my jokes that weren't even supposed to be jokes. lol I do miss them. I should start making youtube videos or something again so I can document some of our memories.. Its always interesting to look back on those. My family has an exclusive group on facebook we use to organize events and reunions and what not (this is a huge group involving every relative we know of that descended from the first immigrants to come to Canada). Anyways, my cousin posted some old videos from the late 70's - early 80's on there about a year ago and they are beyond fascinating. I can't stop rewinding them to the 4 seconds where my aunt (who is behind the camera) asks my 20 year old dad to say something and he gets this weird little grin on his face and says "Something!" and then giggles at his own joke and shoves his hand into the camera lens. It's one thing to see pictures of your folks when they're young like that, but to actually see them move and hear them talk is completely different. In those four seconds of my dad, I clearly see where my brother gets that little grin from, and where Jenna gets her horrid sense of humor from. HAHA joke. Jenna if you ever read this, don't be insulted - you gotta admit, some of your jokes are pretty terrible. haha. Anyways, hearing my dads voice at that age was scary. Because it's hardly changed. lol And he still crinkles his nose like that when he knows hes making a super lame joke. Anyways. Maybe one day I'll stumble across some old footage of my mom back in her glory days and I can see how similar we were/are. (don't make this dirty or I will smack you.)

Bread Crumbs

Can you tell I have copious amounts of school work to do lately? Blog post frequency has increased 500% in the last four days haha

I was in the library today working on said home work. A thought struck me that the library in itself is a bee hive. Filled with little honey combs that are study cubicles, and little bees that are the students that move to and fro these honey combs. And then there's the larva.. aka the keener people that spend ALL DAY in a cubicle. I have this little vision of how if the building started on fire, all these little bees come swarming out. It never occurred to me before just how many people this building can hold. It's huge. One floor dedicated to random tables and a starbucks, another floor dedicated to the learning center and rows upon rows of computers (and still you are incredibly lucky if you can ever find one that's available). The third floor, inconviniently called second floor, is the first of the floors that has an actual library feeling. There's shelves of archived newspapers and old maps. And there's larger tables that are open for group work in quiet place. Next is fourth floor (3rd floor). From here on up its all books. There is over 1 million books in this place! I was on fifth floor today. Didn't take the elevator. Which i regretted because once I sat down in my cubicle, I was panting and wheezing in the dead silence and I knew everyone in the cubicles and tables around me just wanted to punch me in the throat. Meh, I wasn't gonna be their friend anyways since I was writing an essay up there and the clicking of my keyboard would eventually drive all them away. Sorry people. Especially you, hot guy.

Shoulders Hurt

Reasons Why You Shouldn't Hook Up With an Ex

Hey folks, so here's a topic I have some experience with. And I would like to post a blog about it so when I look back in hind sight, I can tell exactly what I was thinking and if I missed anything.

So as you may or may not remember, I hooked up with an ex last year for about 3 months after we broke up. It was never planned, but it always seemed to happen when we would bump into each other at bars. We would be splitting a cab back to our neighborhood since we lived relatively close, and then we would end up making out in the cab, and then end up back at his place. Now in all honesty, when I look back at these times now, I would consider myself to be an idiot. What was I thinking?! SO many things could have gone wrong. But here's the deal: I was doing it because we were still in the "I-don't-know-what-we-are" stage, meaning that I was kind of clinging to the idea of getting back together. It was fun while it lasted, but the next day, week or however long it was until it happened again was pure hell. Agonizing, feeling like he should be texting me, that we should be talking about our situation more instead of getting so distracted. We should have had an adult conversation and just been open with each other instead of skipping over it to get to the fun stuff. I was at one of the lowest lows in my entire life during this time period. And hooking up just added to the confusion. Seriously I could write a whole essay on how used and hurt I felt. So my advice to those of you who are in a situation where you still like your ex is: don't hook up. At least until you've sorted things out and have firm ground rules explaining what is going on in clear detail. And if you're sitting on a maybe, don't do it. Just don't. This situation ended for me in the complete shut out of the guy that I was with, we used to be best friends and now I look at him and all I see is a pathetic player and a douche bag.

Anyways, I promised I would never get myself into a situation like that again. BUT here we are. Yes, I am currently hooking up with my most current ex. This situation is different though, we still talk normally outside of our spontaneous hook ups. We act totally cool around our group of friends. We keep feelings out of it. He's a total gentleman unlike the last guy, and we just fool around, we don't have sex. He stays the night and leaves at some point the next day. I don't say he leaves in the morning because he usually doesn't. We cuddle in bed for a long time and beak the shit out of each other, which is always hilarious. We have breakfast together too. And we set our rules before we started anything so it seems like the ideal situation. But last night I got thinking that maybe it's crossing a line. Maybe his feelings for me are coming back. He kisses my forehead when I sleep, tells me all the things that girls like to hear, rubs my back until I fall asleep, randomly squeezes me really tight when we're cuddling, and last time, HE DUTCH OVENED ME! Now, I think that dutch ovening someone is hilarious, so I went along with it. But really all of these things are pretty couple-y. I was talking to a friend from home last night (actually an ex boyfriend who I am currently kind of best friends with) and he said that that is definitely crossing a line. I'm not really sure how to go about handling it. Like of course I still have feelings for the guy, but I've already made up my mind not to ever get back into a relationship with him because things got so messy last time and we are part of the same friend circle. I started thinking about what happens if he wants to get back together, will he throw another tantrum like last time when I say no? And if that doesn't happen, will he start assuming that this is going to be a regular occurence. So far we have just been doing it on a whim, no planning involved. And then how do I handle this situation when a different guy comes into my life? Of course I'll have to stop the hook ups, but then what? I can already predict a shit ton of unwanted jealousy. On both ends! I mean what if new guy hates old guy and/or old guy hates new guy? That would be the destruction of our friendship, and even if it didn't, I'm pretty sure new guy wouldn't trust me to hang out with old guy on a just-friends level anyways. So now I'm really torn. Because hooking up is a lot of fun, and I found the perfect way to do it. But there is so much more problems that make it not perfect for the future. I guess there's nothing new guy could really do about it because I have lots of friends who are also exes. I don't know. We will see how things go I guess.

Subconscious: Jory, what are you doing?

Jory: Nothing...

Subconscious: Seriously though Jory, what are you doing?

Jory: Seriously subconscious, nothing, I'm not doing anything

Subconscious: Don't you have an essay to write?

Jory: Maybe...

Subconscious: Don't you have three essays to write?

Jory: Yea but they're not due until Monday, Tues and Wednesday!!!

Subconscious: HAH don't kid yourself Jor, it's already Tuesday night and you haven't hardly started one of them, let along looked at the other two.

Jory: But.. but...

Subconscious: So, I ask again.. what are you doing?

Jory: I'M PROCRASTINATING OK? GAWD LEAVE ME ALONE I JUST WANT TO SIT HERE AND FORGET ABOUT HOW MUCH MY SHOULDERS HURT RIGHT NOW AND MAYBE WATCH SOME HONEY BOO BOO. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? AM I THAT BAD OF A PERSON FOR WANTING SOME DOWN TIME AFTER SPENDING ALL DAY COOPED UP IN MY ROOM TRYING TO GET SHIT ACCOMPLISHED. GODDAMNIT SUBCONSCIOUS WHY DO YOU ALWAYS GOTTA BOTHER ME LIKE THIS!

Subconscious: *shrivels away into a corner pleading for forgiveness.

Blue Light Bulb by My Window

Life. It's a crazy thing that I have it. Not only have I beaten all odds of actually being created in the first place, I've also survived through some crazy stuff. Now I'm not talking about plane crashes or atomic bombs or any of that actual crazy stuff.. I'm talking about all the stupid shit I did as a child. For example:

When I was four I was attacked by a dog. Not a wild dog, my uncles dog. I saw it drinking out of the toilet and thought it was cute, so I went up and started petting it - against the grain of its fur. This dog was a golden retriever. I can remember it looking up at me from the water and then pulling its lips back into a low growl. I started backing away and it followed me out into the living area of the basement. I don't remember how it actually attacked me, but I do remember being pinned, face up, underneath it while it chowed down on my face. How I look relatively normal now is beyond me because I had bites all over the left side of my face. I'm lucky that all my uncles were upstairs and heard me scream other wise I'd have been a gonner.

On a less serious note, I'm surprised I lived through the things I used to eat! Like every little kid, I loved candy. But I also loved butter. Seriously, I would get up really early in the morning with my siblings and we would sneak into the kitchen, open up the fridge and scoop finger-fuls of butter out of the container. And just eat them plain like that! Not sure how I wasn't obese as a kid. I never ate anything seriously harmful like Drain-o or anything like that, but I was also into som pretty fucked up shit like salt blocks for cows. When Dad would take us to the pasture, we would sit in the box of the truck with all these salt blocks, only some of them were brand new, and me and Jen and Ar would sit back there and lick them. If we were lucky enough, we could chisel off a chunk and save it for later when we got home. LOL EW! I was also into another kind of salt - softener salt. Yea that's right. My parents always thought there were mice in the garage when they would bring in the bags and find little holes in the corners, but nope, it was me and my sister, stealing little warped cubes of that stuff. And I remember it being delicious too. I feel like I should have some sort of condition for the amount of softener salt that I ate.

Not only was I a bad eater, I was SOOOO unsanitary. I should have had the flu every week. See I had this huge thing against soap when I was little, to wash my hands I would just run them under really hot water and hope it did the trick. Haha I still hold a huge grudge against bar soap, I just think its gross - how can something be clean if its constantly rubbed all over things that are dirty?? I had really bad dental hygene as well. Whenever my parents would load up my toothbrush with toothpaste, I would wait til they left the bathroom then scrape it all off under the faucet (like the part where the water comes out). then just brush my teeth with an empty brush. I also had an irrational fear of lotions and creams. I still cringe at both of those words. I couldn't eat cream filled donuts because it reminded me of eating lotion. haha Glad I got over that one.

I should get to school. ONE CLASS TODAY WOOHOOO!
